Elea Blake Cosmetics

YAY! My Elea Blake goodies have arrived!  Elea Blake cosmetics is owned by makeup artist, Darin Wright.  This mineral makeup is definitely, in my opinion, one of the BEST out there.  It is silky, smooth, and just pure gorgeousness on the skin.  Like I said in my previous posts, Elea Blake makes mineral makeup for each of the 12 seasons.  There are SO many colors to choose from within your palette, as well as custom colors!  Plus, this makeup is so much better for your skin.  Now really, can it get any better than that????

Now, you have your makeup for your palette.  Let me just say, it really is fun to have the confidence to put your makeup on in the morning, knowing all the colors are right for you.  So much FUN too!!!

Ready for the day!:)  Thank you Elea Blake!

Makeup For the Seasons

When I came back from my PCA in Feburary of 2012, I was anxious to get my palette up close and personal with my makeup collection.  I was going to get rid of every color that was not Soft Autumn.  WOW.  I really didn't have much.  So the question is...how much do you need?

I am learning about my personal coloring and how being a Soft Autumn means neutral/warm, but SOFT being the key word.  Muted and neutral with some warmth.  When I think of Autumn, I think spicy and rich.  My coloring really needs the warmth but not too much.  As soon as I get too warm, my skin becomes a bit sallow.  This includes (and most importantly) the colors in your clothing as well as makeup, hair color, jewelry, etc.  Getting it right is so key!

Going through my clothes and makeup, I knew that it wasn't going to happen over night.  No way?  I would love to start from scratch but it takes time to build a wardrobe.  I did get rid of all the brights in my closet and very sloowwwllyyy I'm getting rid of the black.

There is so much knowledge out there about makeup and clothes.  www.truth-is-beauty.com has lots of makeup recommendations for the seasons.  I just placed an order from www.eleablake.com which has gorgeous makeup for the seasons.  Pictures to come!

Personal Color Consultation:My Journey

Well, it has been over a year since I last posted.  Lots of changes have taken place!  My family and I moved to a new city and therefore a new house, new neighborhood, and new school.  We love our new place and are very happy...so it was a very positive move.

I also decided to take a break from writing about makeup as well as contributing on various makeup boards.  You see, I had this desire to learn more about the colors "within" me.  Nothing that I would buy or even the makeup that I had, was creating what I wanted.  I questioned what it was that I was looking for.  Really, I just wanted to look like me...but enhanced.  Lately, nothing was working.  I kept adding different colors, trying to find that balance.

Somewhere along the way of my research online about skin tone and natural coloring, I came upon Color Analysis.  The four seasons you ask?  Yes...and much much more than that.  I started reading a blog called A Greener Tea which is now (www.12blueprints.com) and learned that instead of just 4 seasons, there are 3 different varients of each season.  12 seasons!!

It's too difficult to explain all on my own but here are some references for you if you are interested:

www.truth-is-beauty.com
www.eleablake.com (amazing cosmetics company that offers color analysis with a beautiful line of mineral makeup for each season).

This will help you get the information you need on Personal Color Consultation.  I was very fortunate to have been draped by Maytee Garza of Reveal Style Consultancy last year.  Maytee draped me as a Soft Autumn, which is a neutral warm season.  Now I understand why I couldn't handle the depth or brightness that I thought I should be able to handle!  This draping has answered so many questions for me about my coloring.  Not only am I able to choose the correct makeup for myself but correct clothing colors as well.  As I go through my color journey I am constantly surprised about color and how powerful it is!
